On 13th March, the Spanish Offshore Patrol Vessel Relámpago (OPV) relieves OPV Tornado in EUROMARFOR Task Group, within EU Naval Force, contributing to Operation Atalanta, carrying out counter-piracy patrols off the coast of Somalia.
ESPS Tornado, after 4 months in the area, is now sailing home port.
This is the second time that ESPS Relámpago contributes to Operation Atalanta. She was in this operation in 2012.
EU Naval Force has four ships and three aircrafts in its area of operations, two of these ships are from EUROMARFOR Task Group (FS Siroco, the flag ship, and now ESPS Relámpago).
