ESPS “Galicia” conducts training with Seychelles Maritime Police

During the 3rd of September’s morning, as part of the on-going Local Maritime Capacity Building program, practice-led training was carried out by Spanish sailors.

Local practice beneficiaries mentored by British-led initiative, made the most out of the two hour training frame, which got on to a remarkable start as the weather provided shifty atmospheric conditions.

Seychellois learners took advantage of the anchoring position, to perform man-over-board trials, as well as mooring practices at the helm of the Spanish Inflatable craft, having first received a basic level safety for navigation brief inside the vessels bridge.

Safety measures relating the crane- to- sea craft lowering were also pointed out by the crew members, as well as a hold to the craft’s engine start-up of the day.

Upon the completion of the practice a touch of proud and joy could be sensed among the facial expressions those implied on the knowledge exchange.

ESPS Warship “Galicia” will carry out one more counter piracy patrol on the Indian Ocean. After almost 5 months since all the Spanish Warship and her crew left their home port, they will perform this patrol with the same spirit as the first day but with the knowledge acquired during the deployment.
