EUROMARFOR flagship, ITS Carabiniere, conducted a joint counter-piracy patrol with the French MPRA

On Friday 27 November 2015, EUROMARFOR flagship, ITS Carabiniere, conducted a joint counter-piracy patrol with the French Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MPRA) off the Somali Coast.

The French MPRA based in Djibouti met at sea with ITS Carabiniere, which is currently escorting the UN FAO vessel MV Kestrel as it deploys Fish Aggregating Devices (FAD) off the Somali Coast.

Working together during a mission such as the FAD deployment, gives the Force Commander on board the flagship a much more detailed picture of the area and helps to strengthen maritime security in the region.
