On Tuesday 01 December 2015, members of Operation Atalanta’s Force Headquarters (FHQ), namelly the EUROMARFOR team, on board ITS Carabiniere took the opportunity to celebrate Romania’s 97th Great Union Day, known as Ziua Marii Uniri.

As a contributing nation to Operation Atalanta, Romania is strongly committed to the counter-piracy mission and currently has Navy Officer, Commander Valentin Gavrila serving in the FHQ.

The Force Commander, together with the rest of the FHQ staff members celebrated this special day for Romania.
