THE FRENCH REPRESENTATIVE IN EUROMARFOR PERMANENT CELL STAFF

The EUROMARFOR Permanent Cell (PC) has a staff that is responsible for planning and liaison with National Naval Authorities (NNA) and National CHOD´s functions, and it is constituted by one officer for each participating nation (French “Marine Nationale”, Italian “Marina Militare”, Portuguese “Marinha Portuguesa” and Spanish “Armada”), and they are permanently assigned to the post working close to the COMEUROMARFOR.

 

Captain Nicolas GALTIER, officer from the French Navy, is one of the Permanent Cell members, representing France.

Captain Galtier, was born in Nimes in 1964 and joined the Navy (Naval Aviation) in 1985.

He has served in French Naval Aviation Fighters Squadrons 17TH and 16TH and on board Carrier Vessels “CLEMENCEAU”, “FOCH” and “CHARLES DE GAULLE” as Air Ops Officer.

Captain Galtier is specialized in Intelligence and Naval Aviation Air Operations.

Additionally, he served in French High Readiness Maritime Headquarters (FRMARFOR HQ) as Staff Officer, and was posted two times in EUROMARFOR Staff as French Representative (Rome and Lisbonne).

He assumed his current duties as French National Representative in the EUROMARFOR Permanent Cell in September 2021.

In total, Captain Galtier served more than 37 years at sea and in Operational Headquarters, and took part in numerous Operations including Ops DENY FLIGHT, SHARP GUARD, ENDURING FREEDOM, LICORNE (Ivory Coast), UNIFIED PROTECTOR, SOPHIA and ATALANTA.

Captain Galtier is married and father of two childrens.
