On the 6 December 2011, the European Maritime Force (EUROMARFOR) -currently under the command of Vice Admiral (French Navy) XAVIER MAGNE- will be activated for a new Real World Operation (RWO). In this occasion, this force, composed of Spanish ship "PATINO" (flag ship), French ships "FLOREAL" and punctually "LAMOTTE PIQUET" will contribute to the European Union "Operation ATALANTA", concerning the fight against piracy in the Gulf of Aden and Somali Basin.Read more
