On 22nd of June of 2011, the EUROFORCES High Level Inter-Ministerial Committee (CIMIN) agreed to participate in EUNAVFOR ATALANTA during three rotations in 2012.

On the 6 December 2011, the European Maritime Force (EUROMARFOR) -currently under the command of Vice Admiral (French Navy) XAVIER MAGNE- will be activated for a new Real World Operation (RWO). In this occasion, this force, composed of Spanish ship "PATINO" (flag ship), French ships "FLOREAL" and punctually "LAMOTTE PIQUET" will contribute to the European Union "Operation ATALANTA", concerning the fight against piracy in the Gulf of Aden and Somali Basin.

European Maritime Force (EUROMARFOR) was activated on 21st June 2011 to contribute to participate in the exercise Contex-Phibex.

European Maritime Force (EUROMARFOR), currently under Portuguese command, will activate a TASK GROUP on 21st of June in order to participate in naval exercise, nicknamed CONTEX/PHIBEX, to be conducted by the Portuguese Navy.

Next Sunday, 15th of May, European Maritime Force (EUROMARFOR) celebrates its 16th anniversary.

Next Sunday, May 1, European Maritime Force Task Group will be open to visits at Alicante Harbour.

After participating in the French exercise "Olives Noires",  European Maritime Force (EUROMARFOR) task-group will be in Casablanca (Morocco) for the "Multi Cooperative Exercise-10" that will take place from 23 to 27 of September.

 European Maritime Force (EUROMARFOR) Task Group will be activated on 17th June in Lisbon for its involvement in exercise Swordfish 10. The activation will take place on board of the Portuguese frigate NRP Bartolomeu Dias, at the Terminal de Passageiros de Santa Apol�nia.
