On the 29th July 2015, Admiral D. Francisco Javier Franco Suanzes assumed the duty of Chief of Spanish Fleet (Almirante de la Flota - ALFLOT) and COMEUROMARFOR (Operational Commander of EUROMARFOR).
The ceremony took place on board LHD Juan Carlos I. The event took place at sea in the vicinity of Cádiz. The frigates "Reina Sofía", "Victoria" and "Canarias" were also at sea for saluting the new Admiral of the Fleet.
Admiral Franco Suanzes took over the responsabillity from Admiral Bolibar Piñeiro, that was COMEUROMARFOR since 17 September 2013.
