The activation ceremony was held today on board the frigate NRP Bartolomeu Dias, COMGRUEUROMARFOR (Commander Elias Cagarrinho, PRT-N) flagship, at the presence of the Director of the EMF Permanent Cell, Captain (ITA-N) Marco Stocco.
The Task Group consists of three ships, NRP Bartolomeu Dias, NRP Setubal and ESPS Tornado and Italian Navy REMUS team.
REPMUS is a Portuguese-led experimentation exercise which focuses on maritime unmanned system experimentation, capability development and interoperability and is designed to allow large scale operational experimentation, where operational communities engage with industry and academia to promote integration of maritime unmanned systems in maritime operations.
Integrated in the tactical phase of REPMUS 24 is the exercise CONTEX-PHIBEX 24 that is a Portuguese navy exercise to enhance forces capacities in air, naval and amphibious operations.
This EMF activation of the Task Group, shows the resolve of EMF nations to strengthen tactical and technical knowledge, as well as enhancing the cooperation between the navies, thus strengthening the maritime security.
