EUROMARFOR and EUMS (European Union Military Staff) agreed-upon a framework for bilateral cooperation.

On the 16th of January, at the Italian Navy Fleet Headquarters in Santa Rosa (Rome), Vice Admiral Aurelio De Carolis, Commander of EUROMARFOR and Commander in Chief of the Italian Fleet, and Lieutenant General Michiel van der Laan, Director General of the European Union Military Staff, signed a letter of intent to collaborate closely and enhance security and defence in the maritime domain.

EUROMARFOR and EUMS will coordinate efforts in the areas of crisis management and advance planning, and will take advantage of any possible opportunities for training and interoperability in order to be fully prepared for real-world operations.

EUROMARFOR has achieved another milestone in its almost 30-year history, always committed to being a reliable and effective maritime security provider in the Mediterranean approaches and beyond.
