The Commander of @EUROMARFOR , Vice Admiral Aurelio DE CAROLIS (Italian Fleet Commander), onboard the @ItalianNavy flagship RIZZO, presided over the Activation Ceremony of the EUROPEAN MARITIME FORCE TASK GROUP.

The Force, composed of ITS RIZZO and ESPS REINA SOFIA (@Armada_esp) will operate in the Central and Eastern Mediterranean Sea under the tactical Command of Capt. ITN Davide DA POZZO.

During the EMF Task Group’s transit through the Med, its units will be also supporting the #NATO -led maritime security operation in the Mediterranean. @NATO_MARCOM

Another great example of the peculiar flexibility and interoperability that are inherent to maritime forces, in terms of Command and Control, employment and logistics.

Such commitments represent a valuable and concrete contribution to the generation of deterrence and defence effects required by the current geopolitical and geostrategic scenario.
