EUROMARFOR (or EMF) is a non-standing, multinational military force. EUROMARFOR has the ability to carry out naval, air and amphibious operations.
The force was formed in 1995 to fulfill missions defined in the Petersberg Declaration (1992), such as sea control, humanitarian missions, peacekeeping operations, crisis response operations, and peace enforcement.
EUROMARFOR can be deployed under European Union (EU), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) or United Nations (UN), mandate, but also as long as the four partner nations agree.
